She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep.

History: He was born in the north. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, giants burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the north, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying north to reunite his family. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
