To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Mara. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: He was born at the edge of vast island. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Personality: She is business-like. She takes instructions and follows them to the letter. She is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of her. She is by nature obliging.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Laborer. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east; and to be a interpreter again

Personality: She cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with her opinion, she thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, she can get violently argumentative. She refers to her adoptive father for almost all things she is unsure about, which are numerous. She is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Because her father participated in the massacre of their homeland, goblins burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her mother from journeying west to reunite her family. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Avelina grew up listening to her father's many stories. Ostracized due to the martial powers of her oldest brother, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Half-Elves became a terror of the countryside. She hasn't been sleeping well lately.
