History: He was born into a rich family. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Barakas grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Barakas. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by orcs. Symma was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the orcs.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. His mother was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Tordek hails from a village terrorized by illithids. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Tordek fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
