Personality: She considers herself a woman of culture and sophistication. She likes a good challenge to her wits. The war was a terrible time for her, and Valanthe does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Bather they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Performer, and she later adopted a second daughter.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. After coming to the age of reason, Rangrim took it upon himself to study the martial arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found.

Description: 5'2" and lanky with angular features, she is an attractive figure. She very much looks the part of a Sage. Her hair is short and auburn. Her voice is smooth and creepy, always level, but somehow just slightly unnerving.

Personality: She is business-like. She takes instructions and follows them to the letter. Mara is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her brothers into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: Born in the west to a Sage, Mara learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. Since her mother passed away years ago, her father had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Sage and was forced into it by her family; and further expansion of business
