History: Melissa was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her father was employed at, doing general labor. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Navigator hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Melissa fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Before the accident, she was one of the most outspoken anti-Gnomish activists. She was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Gnomish doctor. She was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of philosophers.

History: When she was but 7 years old her parents immigrated from the south. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Dilettante. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Merla was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the dire rats.
