History: He was born in the north, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. Oriax was born on a far northern mountains where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Stableman. Motivation: He possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills.
