During his travels, Efferil and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Efferil discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Efferil fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

History: Stacee was raised in a hard working conservative environment. She was one of the best in her class, and was picked up by her current employer. She quickly showed her capability and was soon promoted to a head role. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Personality: Overbrimming with self-confidence, Maiathah isn't afraid of most anything. She has a strong dislike to people who do not believe in Elven unity. She does not believe in violence as a means to an end. She is a dedicated Slave Trader but believes her peers are too gung-ho.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Maiathah was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She now mingles about in high society.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He has a minor phobia of water and hates getting wet.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Elves in the south were limited. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: Her voice, at times compared to that of a Nymph, lambasts those who consider themselves "civilized" with snide, belittling remarks; the subtle growl she speaks with growing louder in doing so, one can find it most pronounced, despite the otherwise natural purity of her tone. She is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. She haggles over everything, upselling her goods and buying cheap. She is persistent in everything.

History: She comes from a rich northern family. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. She was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Hethress was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Carter. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Personality: He can speak with the recently deceased. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: His psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. He always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by goblins, and he desires to right it; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge
