History: Purson was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Sorcerer, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: She tends to agree with only herself unless someone else's opinion sounds like she can profit from it. She tries to control her temper but she can't always stop herself from what she feels what must be done. She is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes her no end of embarrassment.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. After a long history of fighting, Grigi and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
