However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

History: Born in the east to a Bookbinder, Joan learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. There was a wharf not far from home where she often wandered off to fish. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.
