History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Her parents enrolled her in a Sorcerer school at a young age so that she could practice her divine talents. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: She has a crush on the local Stylist; and to find somewhere to settle down

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. A freak accident while working with his Bricklayer mother left him crippled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
