Through the years after Valanthe was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Valanthe's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Crown-heir for hire.
