In her 16th year, her parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Aasathra alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Her otherwise smooth face is marked with small tiny scars.

Personality: She will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken her opponents. Despite her formidable combat skills she remains a coward. Aline enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for her love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: When she was but 3 years old her parents immigrated from the south. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to her current location. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother; and wants to raise her children well

Personality: He is fixated on the number 13. He counts his steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. He seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. He does not mind isolation but does not hate company and attempts to receive them as best as possible.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Gnomish people; and he is content

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Claira was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.
