History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Varis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. History: Kairon was born with his father's beautiful face. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Half-Orcs in the east were limited. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.

History: The child of a Sage, who enjoyed hunting, Balam was taken on many hunting expeditions. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Description: A woman with a warm, jovial air about her, she is well dressed, but even with her fine clothing she looks run-down. Her hair, while still mostly golden, has prominent grey streaks. Her blue eyes have a joyful gleam in them most of the time.

Personality: Dell is a sociable creature first and foremost. She loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. She can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. She is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure she is not cheated out of a speck.

History: Dell lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.
