Motivation: To reunite with his absent father; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: She loathes her own lifestyle; and she feels kind of lost in life

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son.
