History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His parents were killed by illithids in a raid when he was still a young child. The illithids captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Barakas was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. In her 15th year, her parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Silgre alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and she desires to right it; and someone believes her a fraud

History: She got into the Beggar business at a young age. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Yvonne grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Yvonne. She has since married many spouses, only to have them die. She claims to not be responsible.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and she is unsatisfied with her job
