He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and someone believes him a fraud

History: She was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital.
