History: He comes from a rich eastern family. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

She tries to control her temper but she can't always stop herself from what she feels what must be done. She loves her children and doesn't want them to worry about her. She loves to share her music with anyone who is interested.

History: Shamil hails from a village terrorized by brigands. She has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Eccentric and domineering, Galinndan will drive conversation. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and balancing his hectic life and new navigator responsibilities is difficult

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Roland was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the brigands.

The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her father's willingness to do anything to win. As of late she has set up a hidden staging nest where she ambushes people she hires for escort.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and she wants to meet her childhood hero

History: The child of a Brewer, who enjoyed hunting, Matilda was taken on many hunting expeditions. She was a friend to animals and a trickster. In her defense of animals however she would do severe harm to people. She has recently attracted an admirer that believes she's playing hard to get.
