History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Vani was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her parents enrolled her in a Sorcerer school at a young age so that she could practice her arcane talents. She was granted arcane powers by her dying sister.

History: Carlin hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. At a young age both her parents were killed in an accident. Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Carlin was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright.
