History: Gifted from a young age, Verna studied abroad. As a young adult she joined a group advocating for an improvement in Halfling conditions. She hasn't been sleeping well lately.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Cask was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He struck the Cartwright job and began his own company from there.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg
