Personality: She speaks before she thinks and is too direct. Her philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: The child of northern immigrants she idolized her mother. When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the mountains to a summer home near a old dungeon. She would wander through that old dungeon and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Merla took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up pickaxe and armor she uses now. She hasn't been sleeping well lately.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. Like his mother and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Painter. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Painter for hire.
