History: She was raised by priests from a young age. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Tawar was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Through the years after Tawar was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. History: The child of eastern immigrants she idolized her mother. Margery was born on a far eastern forest where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Spice Merchant. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and he wants revenge against giants

History: When she was but 4 years old her parents immigrated from the east. Since her mother passed away years ago, her father had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by illithids. Grigi was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the illithids.
