Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Umpen embodies much of what other species detest in the Gnomes. He has all his life been fascinated with dancing.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. Personality: She is a very philanthropic person; she spends her free time working at various soup kitchens. Salanop enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for her love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Salanop lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: An old rival family wants her found; and doesn't want to be a miner and was forced into it by her family

Personality: She tends to agree with only herself unless someone else's opinion sounds like she can profit from it. She tries to control her temper but she can't always stop herself from what she feels what must be done. Flattery will make her almost putty in your hands.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A freak accident while working with her Interpreter mother left her crippled. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Description: She is a woman of bearing and well nourished. She wears a shirt that is too small, which lets her gut show, with a ratty blue coat over it. Her hair is silver and curly. Her violet eyes are slightly larger than normal.

Personality: She is business-like. She takes instructions and follows them to the letter. She cannot resist a sob story and will often dote over anyone who has one.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Thiala was a troubled youth. She spent her days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent her evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Thiala decided she wanted neither the life of her father nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.
