History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In her 10th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Jo alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: A powerful necromancer made her what she is. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
