Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She has achieved small success as a Interpreter.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg; and balancing her hectic life and new interpreter responsibilities is difficult
