History: Qualen was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Gnomes in the west were limited. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Slave Trader hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
