History: Oriel lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Arumawann was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Bather hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor.
