History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. His parents were killed by gnolls in a raid when he was still a young child. The gnolls captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Burto fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: A powerful wizard made him what he is. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Elizabeth was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Unemployed work with an outfit from a few towns over. Unemployed work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of philosophers.
