When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Courier hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: Joan was born with her mother's beautiful face. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization.
