History: Born in the south to a Jeweler, Bertram learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her father. Since her father passed away years ago, her mother had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Eloise fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and she desires to right it; and she wants revenge against gnolls
