History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Thiala was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Spice Merchant work with an outfit from a few towns over. Spice Merchant work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She became a Spice Merchant soon after.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Tod was born on a far northern desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Bounty Hunter. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and regain custody of his son
