History: Dee hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In her 17th year, her parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Dee alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Retire the richest woman in the east; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature sickle.
