History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Frederick grew up listening to his father's many stories. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. In her 13th year, her parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Maiathah alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Chaedi was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
