He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of drow may trigger it at times.

History: He was born in the north. He worked as a nervous Miller and found it very stressful. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it; and sabotage a competitor

To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Chad.
