History: The child of eastern immigrants she idolized her mother. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Half-Elves in Mara's homeland. Mara decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her sons to still be retired.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.
History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Alston was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Alston's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Alston and his spouse have recently divorced.
