History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. When Sariel reached her early adolescence her Half-Elf mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Ugol lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He's also a talented Navigator, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Fivin was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He worked as a nervous Blacksmith and found it very stressful. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
