Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. She now mingles about in high society.
