Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

History: A powerful brothel owner made her what she is. She helped her mother out around the business and became quite the natural. She tends to her Bowyer job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Dyer. Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls.
