She survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. She did whatever it took for her to survive. During her travels, Vola and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Vola discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves.
