History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. In her 18th year, her parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Birel alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by giants. Birel was horrified and prayed that her father was alright.
