History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Shifting was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. He was taken from his home at a very young age. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He would ruin relationships and cause injury. He was reprimanded several times before being given his current form and forced to learn humility.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. At a young age both her parents were killed in an accident. Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Volen fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
