Personality: A deeply religious man he believes everything happens for a reason. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Mindartis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born to a Miner, his mother struggled to pay the bills. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, she has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. She is fiercely devoted to her mother, and views her mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-sister.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Bune was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She helped her mother out around the business and became quite the natural. She now owns her own business.
