History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He married young, but lost his spouse to giants. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Dain was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She is a great chef.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Her necromantic abilities were realized during a raid on her village. She has worked as a Soapmaker like her mother before her.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and he wants revenge against orcs

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Astaro's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She is fiercely devoted to her mother, and views her mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-brother.

History: Her martial talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. Her martial abilities were realized during a raid on her village. Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Astaro fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
