She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: She can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of dire rats may trigger it at times.

History: Gifted from a young age, Melissa studied abroad. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Melissa was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the dire rats.

Personality: She believes there is no problem she cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. She works hard and plays hard.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She was one of the best in her class, and was picked up by her current employer. She quickly showed her capability and was soon promoted to a head role. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls.
