History: She was born into a rich family. In her youth she was a Butcher, and wanted to be a champion fighter when she grew up. She was working during a period of war, and as one of the natives she lived in fear of joining the others in being slaughtered. She saw the brutality and swore off her fighting aspirations, taking her younger brother on her back after seeing her parents die, and fled the country. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm mother. History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.
