History: She was born in the west. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Valida grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Valida. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: Merihim was born in the west. At a young age he loved to build and create. His mother was a mechanic, and taught him how to fix just about anything. Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Merihim fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. He was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions; and he is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.
