She was working during a period of war, and as one of the natives she lived in fear of joining the others in being slaughtered. She saw the brutality and swore off her fighting aspirations, taking her younger sister on her back after seeing her parents die, and fled the country. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.
