History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Umpen was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Her biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: A rambunctious noisy drunk he knows how to make people feel guilty. Fulbar enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for his love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: He comes from a rich southern family. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Sage work with an outfit from a few towns over. Sage work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Sage responsibilities is difficult; and money/treasure

Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this western gal figured out how to best use her charms to convince people to do what she wants. She takes great pride in her work and is very well organized. Her planner is full of calendar events.

History: She was born in the west, but her parents moved at a very young age to the south. She was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform She tends to her Bricklayer job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

Motivation: She desires power and/or immortality; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

Personality: Fistula is a sociable creature first and foremost. She loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. She can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. She is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with her old comrades. She has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. She is searching for what she claims is her rightful reward.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She invented a lineage for herself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: Art lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. At a young age she wooed the heart of her future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. She has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Fisher.

Motivation: Meet up once more with her childhood friend; and she has passion for adventuring and risk
