History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Brakka grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Brakka. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: She is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of her strength. She works very hard to maintain that gentleness. She claims to be unscrupulous but at the end of the day she will do what she thinks is right.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

His fair skin shows little sign of his aristocratic breeding.

Personality: He is a Unemployed first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: Shag lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Shag abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He has worked as a Unemployed like his mother before him.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. Her parents enrolled her in a Paladin school at a young age so that she could practice her psionic talents. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: A child with a great deal of poetry talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Map Maker and was forced into it by her family; and marry her brother to traveling adventurers
