During his travels, Kody and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Kody discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Kody fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. Being a Ploughman kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the plains to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside.
