When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by drow. Shamil was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the drow.
